Oyster Bay Preschool is licensed by the department of community services for 27 children per day aged from 2 to 5 years and we have a three-year accredited status.  

The preschool is open between the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm. We are opened during school holidays, however we close for public holidays and for two weeks over Christmas.

The preschool is staffed by qualified and experienced people who undertake to be sympathetic to the welfare of children and to act in such a way as to promote their physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.

We provide preschool education with long day care hours, we also provide all meals these are from Kids Gourmet Food.

Our aim at Oyster Bay Preschool is to provide a safe, healthy and caring environment that enhances children's autonomy, initiative and self worth. At Oyster Bay we have adopted and inclusive approach to child care which recognises each child's individual family values, cultural background, religious beliefs, gender and abilities.

We aim to equip children with the life skills that will enable them to experience fulfilling and rewarding participation within their community. We aim to develop positive relationships with the family and local community based on mutual trust and open communication.

The program will support children to achieve their potential through both individual and group experiences, which will be based on children's individual interests, development and abilities through information collected from observation and family communication. The program will encourage growth in the areas of physical, social, emotional, language, cognitive (intellectual) and self-help, through play within a responsive learning environment.

Our dedicated and professional staff are a valuable resource and we encourage ongoing training and development so that we can self evaluate and improve to ensure quality care at all times. We recognise the uniqueness of each family and by working in partnership we aim to provide for the best interests of the children and their families.

A weekly program is displayed on the notice board, setting out experiences and group times for each day. The program is based on the beliefs and attitudes expressed in our philosophy and uses observations of children's needs, skills and interests.

The program format is divided into types of play, experiences and group times, such as; craft, easel, construction, sand, dramatic, sensory, cognitive, school readiness, music and movement, literacy, book corner, learning centers and an interest room.
