I am a registered educator with Approved Service Provider, Sydney Wide Family Day Care. As a registered Educator with an Approved Provider you are eligible for Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR).
I have the capacity to enroll a maximum of four children under the age of five years, plus three school age children for before and after school care or vacation care per day.
I have previously been registered with Sutherland Council for the past 18 years, but have now joined a new approved scheme of Sydney Wide Family Day Care, which is offering a child focused and holistic approach to childcare.
ABOUT ME – I have raised two sons of my own, and understand how important the first five years can be. I understand, and support the needs of parents to be working full days. I also appreciate the need that even one or two days of social interaction for your child will enhance your child’s development and the family’s wellbeing.
ABOUT MY SERVICE – I care for a small group of four children each day, which gives me the opportunity to meet each of your child’s needs and wishes, and gives your child the opportunity to shine and grow at their own individual pace and style.
I offer an extensive school ready program. Six monthly development assessments on all children, which are available for you to review. I encourage all parents to give feedback and any suggestions for ideas to add to their child’s daily activities and learning. I have guided many children from toddlers to independent school age children. Many children come back for after school care and vacation care.
The uniqueness of Family Day Care means I can also offer activities such as a walk to the park or corner shop to buy an ice block on a hot day. I can also offer the comfort and flexibility of a home environment for those children that might find themselves lost in a center- based environment. Play session and incursions are also on offer, which provides your child with the opportunity to be part of a larger group to enhance their social interactions.
ABOUT MY ENVIRONMNET – I have designed and built my home to cater for all the needs and safety regulations required to run a day care center, such as safety glass, air conditioning, hot water regulator, etc. I also offer a huge grassy back yard for children to run, kick balls and play safely and freely.
The design of my day care areas is open planned, with large open areas with north facing sunlight, and level with the back yard to allow your child easy, safe access to the yard. Facilities have been fitted to a high standard to ensure health and hygiene practices are in place. The layout also ensures I am always in view of your child.
I am about three minutes walk from Como Station.
MY AIM AND BELIEF- I believe a child’s natural environment enhances their development and learning. Many of the toys and activities on offer will have incorporated a nature base to them, with many toys and puzzles made from timber or natural products. Activities are set to encourage your child’s ability to explore and discover. I aim to give children a calm, safe, inviting and happy surrounding, so they can make their own choices about what they feel, touch and experience. By allowing this, their imagination and creativity begins to grow, their motor skills are improving, and their common sense is building and they are learning more about themselves and their world. The outdoors also provides a perfect backdrop for children to do what comes naturally – to get active, to be inquisitive, to get hands on, and to feel good about themselves.
