My name is Joanne and I am an Early Childhood Teacher and registered educator with Collective Family Day Care Scheme.

I have worked in the Early Childhood field for over 20 years and have been working in Family Day Care for the past 8 years.

Not many families are aware of the great benefits of Family Day Care for young babies and toddlers.

I believe that young children first starting in child care benefit greatly from being in a small group setting. They aren’t so overwhelmed by such large groups of children that can often occur in centre based care. The small group setting of four children allows for more one on one attention. They have the same educator each day which makes the settling process a little easier. They build friendships with their peers quickly and these friendships last many years.

In my Family Day Care environment there is a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities and experiences. I offer flexible routines and spontaneous play. Each area of early childhood development is stimulated and encouraged. My program focuses on individual skills and interests and encourages further development.

I am registered with the Friends at Family Day Care Scheme who is able administer the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) to eligible families.
