One of the reasons families choose Council’s Franklin Road centre is for its community feel and local connections. All families are local to the area and value the centre's close partnership with nearby Woolooware Public School.
Families tell us the atmosphere at Franklin Road is happy and fun, with warm and responsive interactions between Educators, families and children. They also tell us our team is very supportive of them in their role as parents.
Franklin Road is recognised as a centre of high standards - it has been independently assessed as 'Exceeding' the industry's National Quality Standards by the childcare industry's governing body.
Franklin Road is led by a highly experienced Director with 24 years' experience. Her outstanding early childhood experience and kind, caring disposition is appreciated by families. At Franklin Road and as a previous Director at other Council centres, she has organised many fundraising events as part of supporting the wider community and teaching children about helping others in need.
The Franklin Road team brings a diverse range of talents and skills to our service. Among our team are Educators highly skilled in emotional and social wellbeing, sustainability practices & education, and artistic talents which provide the children with incredible art experiences.
Franklin Road is open from 7am-6.15pm, 51 weeks of the year.
Families enjoy regular insights into their children's learning via a safe and secure communication app called Educa. Educa allows families to view and share learning stories, photos and videos, and collaborate with Educators about their child’s development, from the comfort of their phone.
Franklin Road is located next to Woolooware Public School, Woolooware shops and is only a block away from the Woolooware train station. Ample parking is available for easy drop offs and pick-ups.
We enjoy many excursions to local destinations, including the local primary school, post office (e.g. to mail letters & drawings the children have worked on), shops and the train station to commence an excursion via train travel. Excursions are an important part of the holistic learning program offered at Franklin Road.
The children enjoy a very large, modern, picturesque and well-resourced outdoor play space to build their physical skills and learn socialisation through play. Parents visiting our service for the first time are always in awe of our abundance of outdoor space. Our centre was built at a time when land was plentiful - the reason for our incredibly vast and spacious outdoors.
All Council Early Education Centres deliver a curriculum which provides children with academic and life skills education. We promote the development of language and literacy, numeracy, social and emotional skills, physical development and cognitive growth.
We also enjoy a strong connection with our neighbour Woolooware Public School, visiting the school to view and participate in classrooms, the playground and library. Monthly visits are held with groups of children from our 3-5 year room. Specific transition to school visits are also undertaken, to help children transition smoothly to this new environment. We are also fortunate to have primary school children visit us at Franklin Road to talk about school life with the children.
We provide an eco-friendly cloth nappy service to babies and toddlers, at no additional cost to parents.
