The children at Allison Crescent are cared for by a warm and talented team of Educators.
Among our team is an artist who implements amazing art experiences with the children. We have athletes who teach fundamental movement experiences and a yoga enthusiast who regularly incorporates yoga into our curriculum as part of teaching self-regulation skills. Our sustainability devotee is a member of Children's Services specialist sustainability team focusing on children's environmental education and experiences. The diversity of our team makes our centre unique. Our Educators have been a part of Allison Crescent for many years.
The centre opens from 7am-6.15pm, 51 weeks of the year.
Allison Crescent has been independently assessed as a centre of high standards, achieving a rating of ‘exceeding’ the industry’s National Quality Standards.
Families enjoy regular insights into their children's learning via a safe and secure communication app called Educa. Educa allows families to view and share learning stories, photos and videos, and collaborate with Educators about their child’s development, from the comfort of their phone.
We are ideally located in the Menai Business District, taking full advantage of our prime location to be actively involved in the community with many excursions to Menai Library, Parc Menai, Menai Indoor Sports Centre and the local bushland reserve.
Families tell us they love the abundance of space at Allison Crescent. Our large outdoors features an all-weather veranda and covered deck areas, sandpit, climbing equipment, a slide, pathways for trikes and cars and plenty of open space ideal for building gross motor skills. There are natural landscapes to explore and peaceful quiet spaces for the children to relax. The newly renovated outdoors even provide children with (supervised) opportunities to climb trees.
All Council Early Education Centres deliver a curriculum which provides children with academic and life skills education. We promote the development of language and literacy, numeracy, social and emotional skills, physical development and cognitive growth.
Allison Crescent enjoys a strong connection with Menai Primary School, with various activities to support children starting school. Council also consults closely with parents on school readiness and transition to school.
Allison Crescent provides an eco-friendly cloth nappy service to babies and toddlers, at no additional cost to parents.
